What we
do for members . . .
Located on the edge of Dartmoor between Okehampton and Launceston,
with over 730 acres of water, Roadford is the largest inland, i.e.
non tidal, body of water in the South West.
The lake and Club are within easy reach of the major roads in the
region and less than an hour away from Plymouth and Exeter. Surprisingly,
it is also accessible from both Bristol and Truro, too.
Along with the large sailing area nd the location, the Club benefits
from RYA
Training Centre standard of safety, expertise and facilities
offered by the South West Lakes Trust.
The club offers a relaxed and competent environment in which to
enjoy sailing and racing.
The Key aims of the club's Committee are to actively:
- Promote communication between members of the RLSC by providing
a forum for information exchange (i.e. this web site).
- Support applications to funding agencies for the strategic development
of water sports and recreation within the area.
- Encourage youth training and racing, and
- Encourage racing and other social activities to club members.
