General
Roadford Lake Sailing Club maintains both written and computerised

and does not circulate or distribute membership details to any individual
or organisation other than that required for the purposes of legitimate
and official club communications.
E-mail
The Roadford Lake Committee members will communicate to both the
general public using e-mail addresses of the Club only for legitimate
and official communications. Committee member e-mail addresses will
be issued under instruction of the current club Committee. The Club’s
Committee members will ONLY communicate to members using e-mail
if:
- it is not possible to use this web site and/or the secure ‘member’s
section of this site
- It is an emergency
If a Committee member must send e-mail communication, they will
ensure that they do not divulge e-mail addresses inadvertently to
multiple recipients of the e-mail. If a member has supplied an e-mail
address to a Committee member or other members, it will be assumed
by ALL members that:
- This e-mail address can be used to communicate to that member
only for legitimate and official club matters.
- This e-mail address is not be shared with other members.
The Roadford Lake Sailing Club takes no responsibility for members
who choose to:
- communicate through their chosen e-mail to members and Committee
members
- Disclose e-mail addresses or personal information of other members
through e-mail communication.
- Choose to use e-mail for illegitimate or unofficial matters.
Images and Video clips
Publication of images of members, especially children, again has
issues with regard to protecting identity. To this end, the core
principal of the policy is that if we publish a name, we do not
publish a picture. If we publish a picture, we do not publish a
name. Images will usually be in the form of general photographs
of members taking part in an activity, or of groups. Permission
must be sought from subjects in either of the following cases:
- A close-up image
- An occasion where we may wish to identify a subject by name
If such permission is granted, the fact should be recorded in
the register which forms part of the web site maintenance documents.
These documents are held by the webmaster. Image content must be
appropriate. When publishing images, the subjects must be appropriately
dressed. In particular, images of Juniors sailing during the summer
may well portray them wearing swimsuits. While this dress is appropriate
for the activity, it may not be appropriate for publication on the
web site.
